Blah....

UGH - I have been sick with the FLU for the past couple of days. I'm feeling a bit better tonight, but it's rough not being able to take most medications because I'm pregnant! Thankfully, Monday at lunch time I made a huge batch of spaghetti which is what we've been having for supper every night since then. I'm afraid we'll all turn into spaghetti if we have it one more night!

Today was Lexi & Kiegan's last full day of school - they are very happy about that! They have tomorrow off and then Friday they go just long enough to get their report cards and go to Mass and that's it! They've both been attending the Achieve Center on Thursday nights for some extra tutoring, but during the summer they only see kids during the day which is pretty much impossible for us. So I think they'll have the summer off from that as well and we'll try to do some extra practice work here at home (hopefully).

Friday is our ultrasound appointment - the kids are going to go with us so that will be fun for them! I'll post what we learn as soon as I'm able to. We're heading to Dawson Lake right after the appointment and won't be back until sometime on Monday; so I may not post again until late Monday or Tuesday night.

Surprise!!

Well my friends & family......we're gonna have a baby!!! This was WAY sooner than we had planned, but God must have decided that now is as good of a time as any. :o) We are both VERY excited - Travis was immediately thrilled, but it took me a bit to feel the excitement because I was wanting us to wait for awhile. We had our first doctor's appointment last Friday (5/16) and they figure that I'm about 8 weeks along with a due date of December 27th - Christmas baby!! We'll have our first sonogram next Friday which will help to determine a more accurate due date - exciting stuff!!

To let our mom's know the good news, we had the nurse at the doctor's office run 2 tests for us and we brought them home and wrapped them up as gifts. I think they were both very surprised at first and then excited. My mother-in-law has already bought me a SUPER cute maternity shirt and my mom emailed me last night saying that she has already bought the baby a sleeper! As far as the kids went, the boys didn't have much of a reaction. Kiegan just said that we need to have twins so that he & Patrick don't fight over who's going to hold the baby. :o) But Lexi was so excited that she suddenly became obnoxiously hyper!!!! She's hoping for a girl of course, but I think that's because we won't let her dress up the dog anymore and she's hoping the baby will be the replacement.

That's all for now - I'll post more later!

Mother's Day Is Near!

I can't believe that we're into May and I had to wake up this morning and turn the furnace back on! Our house was down to 50-degrees and I can't have it that cold with little ones here. Even Bruiser came out of his kennel this morning only to wrap himself up in a blanket that was on the couch.

Mother's Day is just 3 days away! Travis & I had flowers delivered to our mom's today - we just didn't know what else to give them when they've already got everything! They both loved them of course - they were pink/purple Tulips & Iris'. We were hoping to take the kids camping at Dawson Lake, but this weekend will just be way too busy. My aunt is getting married in Minier Saturday afternoon, we'll be in Towanda for a Mother's Day lunch at another of my aunt's houses and then back to Pontiac to Travis' parents for dinner. Another weekend of getting NOTHING accomplished around the house! Oh well - it'll still be there next weekend. :o)

Lexi wrote me the best Mother's Day poem tonight and of course she had to give it to me right away. Enjoy:

I LOVE THAT LADY by Lexi Rose Ziegler

She is kind
She is all mine
My mom
I love that lady

She is always in a hurry
Being late puts her in a fury
My mom
I love that lady

She makes a lot of money (not sure what makes her think that)
She is very funny
My mom
I love that lady

She never has lice (Shoo! That's a good thing!)
She hates the mice
My mom
I love that lady

She is always rich (surely she's not referring to money)
When I'm hurt she kisses it
My mom
I love that lady

She was a pretty bride
She is always by my side
My mom
I love that lady

She bakes a lot of cakes (I think I've baked maybe 2 cakes?)
I love everything she makes
My mom
I love that lady

It doesn't take her awhile
She is always right in style (sweatpants & t-shirts are always in style, right?)
My mom
I love that lady

She makes me smile
Once in a while (I guess that's better than never!)
My mom
I love that lady

She is so sweet it's true
To me and to you
My mom
I love that lady

:o) Mother's Day can't get any better than that!

Off to bed....I'll have a house full of kids tomorrow; so I need to get my rest!

My First Love.....PEPSI

Those of you that know me well enough also know that I LOVE PEPSI! I dream about it, I sing about it, I long for it - ok so maybe I don't do all of those things, but I sure do like it. Well, I've finally decided (and a lot of you will be shocked) to end this relationship. I don't mean that I'll never ever drink a Pepsi, I just mean that we're going to try to not have any at the house to tempt me. What am I drinking instead? Well, plain ol' water is just too boring for me so I've switched to Propel - it's a more expensive drinking habit than Pepsi, but it's certainly better for me in the short term and the long. Not only does it cost more, but I tend to drink about 6 or 7 of them A DAY....seriously! In fact, I'm already on my 3rd one today and it's only 11:00 am! So we'll see if this helps me lose some of this weight I've added on....or maybe it won't make a bit of difference....hmmmmmm.......

What have I gotten myself into?!

So....I see these crazy friends of mine doing these things called "blogs". At first I was like "More power to them, but no thank you!" However, the more I read what they post, the more I realize what an easy and creative way this is to keep those closest to you (although they may not live close to you) informed about the goings-on of life. So why not add one more "to do" to my list! :o)

To start - married life is GREAT! Actually, not much has changed for Travis & I except that now we both have a ring that we need to remember to wear every day! The house seems to be somewhat back to normal. I would love to have clean and clear countertops, but I've stopped holding my breath for that to happen. I took Monday & Tuesday off after the wedding to clean the house back up and Travis took Monday off. It was quite a task!

Pictures....wonderful, awesome pictures! We got our wedding photos back from our photographer yesterday. Perhaps some of you know her - Miranda Kemp?? :o) What a wonderful job! She did exactly what we wanted - easy & simple. She got a nice number of us in our "fancy" clothes and a lot at the reception where everyone was having a great time in their jeans & sweatshirts! I wouldn't have wished for anything different.

(Ok - so I tried to put a couple of the pictures with this post, but I'm having issues. I'll keep trying though!)

Enjoy my first post - I'll do my best to post as often as I can!
